Zimbalist and Brosnan were the show’s stars, but many other actors made it memorable. Let’s check out their story and some fun facts about the show that may surprise you.

 Stephanie Zimbalist

Stephanie was born to celebrities, which exposed her to the limelight. Her father was an actor and her grandfather was a famous violinist, music teacher, and composer. Her grandmother was a musician, a leading soprano of her era. Her aunt Marcia Davenport was a known historian and author.

Zimbalist got into acting after high school, and was enthusiastic about making it in the industry. She started in the ’70s; her first movie was The Gathering. She performed with all kinds of actors, which helped her rise to the top.

A Child of the Industry

The industry grew and was flooded with TV shows and films. In an industry dominated by men, women had to work harder and push their way to the top. Zimbalist was one of those women.

Remington Steel significantly led to her growth. She played Laura Holt perfectly, and her chemistry with Pierce Brosnan helped make the show great.

She Faded Away

She proved to the world that women and female actors were more than what they seemed to be. She took the part of Laura, a private investigator, which was a role given typically to men. It was a big deal at the time.

Now in her mid-60s, she hasn’t been seen in many acting roles. Her last part was in 2016 in a small budget film called A Timeless Love. Aside from acting, she worked in theater and has released audiobooks.

Home Life for Zimbalist

Zimbalist is dating Peter Medak, the British movie director, but they never married and have children together. She has been swimming since she was a teenager. She is also a dancer, tennis player and rides bikes.

Zimbalist loves traveling and has been to many European countries. Acting has cooled off in recent years, but it seems likes she’s living her best life.

Pierce Brosnan

Brosnan was born on May 16th, 1953 to a carpenter father. He went to school until he was 16, when he started training in commercial illustration. He went to the Drama center in London for three years, and then started his acting career.

His first TV role was in Wait Until Dark. He starred in The Red Devil Battery Sign, earning him respect in the industry. He then took on the play Filumena in 1977. It was another leap in Brosnan’s acting career.

The Road to Remington Steele

By 1980, Brosnan made appearances in two plays, The Professionals and Play for Today. He became a star when he took a role in The Manions of America. He also acted in a BBC miniseries, Nancy Astor.

Still a Star

Brosnan is in his late 60s, but his career is still strong. He doesn’t plan on playing an older adult any time soon nor will he be slowing down. He’s involved in high-profile projects like DC’s Black Adam.

One advantage he has is the ability to play all kinds of characters. One of the major movies Brosnan has been working on is The Misfits, released in 2021. It wasn’t a major success but it proves how in-demand he still is.

Forever James Bond

Many people still know him as James Bond. He was in four Bond films in total, between 1995 and 2002. People love him for his role as Sam in the Mamma Mia! movies, too. He’s been married twice. He met Cassandra Harris, his first wife, after leaving drama school.
